Meditation

Note for 2016-2017:Please note – Thursday evening meditation is on break for the summer and will resume in September. Sunday morning meditation will be meeting occasionally during the summer – please contact us to be on the notification list.

Meditation is free and open to all. No experience is necessary. Beginners are encouraged to arrive early for an orientation, and the volunteer leaders are available for questions after the sessions. Cushions and pillows are provided.  The 60-minute sessions are held on Thursday evenings 7:30 – 8:30 pm and Sunday mornings 9:00 am through 10 am.  Please consider joining us for Sunday service at 11 afterwards. Some tips:

  • For first timers, come 15 minutes early for a personalized orientation.
  • Wear comfortable clothing for sitting.
  • Bring socks to keep your feet warm walking around on the floor, especially during the winter months.
  • Turn off your mobile devices during meditation and while at the temple.

Sessions generally go on hiatus from mid-June through mid-September and are often canceled during the holidays or during bad weather.  Check the Calendar and our Facebook page for updates.
