Open House Chicago

The Buddhist Temple of Chicago is proud to be part of the citywide Open House Chicago for the fourth year in a row.  Come see our unique six-sided temple with radiating trusses.  View hand-carved panels depicting the life of Buddha, visit our exhibits about temple history and the history of Japanese Americans in Chicago, and see our nokotsudo (cremation remains chamber) with its hand-carved altar, made from scrap wood by a detainee in the Heart Mountain concentration camp.
